The first concert of our 26/27 season - Into this Beautiful Mess - features percussionist Hunter Gross at the Mattie Nash-Myrtle Davis Recreation Center on September 19th at 11AM.
Hunter is an American percussionist, chamber musician, and educator based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, serving as Assistant Principal Timpanist/Percussionist with the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra and touring artist with the Heartland Marimba Quartet. A doctoral student at the University of North Texas, he has toured internationally, performed at PASIC and the Avaloch Farm Music Institute, and premiered works by composers including Jenni Brandon and Molly Joyce. He holds degrees from the University of North Florida and the University of Oklahoma, and is an educational artist for Marimba One, Sabian, Black Swamp Percussion, and Salyers Percussion.
